3sixteen + 20BSP | Initial Fit

The new range of 3sixteen + denim is a real treat to behold. Woven from rare Japanese rope-dyed indigo denim. The color is a deep, dark shade of indigo with a noticeable cross-hatch like weave which should reveal a particularly intriguing falling pattern as the denim ages. The texture and handle of the denim are something special to see up close. The rugged and beefy Tanner Goods patch is the perfect contrast to the dark unwashed denim and fits in nicely with theĀ  various yellow stitch details.. I love how the slight hairiness of the weave can be seen clearly in the shot of the Union Special chainstitched hem. The selvedge accents and hardware detailing areĀ  quite striking as well. 3sixteen has gone above and beyond for their latest release. I can’t wait to see how these fade in the next few months.

Really loving the fit on these…And that shot of the chain stitching where you can see how hairy the denim is makes me like them even more.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what shoes hes rocking? They look kinda like Purcells, but theyre definitely not like any of the pairs I’ve seen.

    Thanks

I was very excited when I heard these were being released, as my 3Sixteen SL 100′s are my fave jeans these days.

I was upset about two things when I tried them on: 1. Back pockets – why change them? The pockets on the original model are more flattering, IMO. 2. Sizing – The waist size of these was decreased by 1/2 inch. Makes a difference. MY SL 100s are 33 waist and they’ve stretched to a perfect size on me. The new 33s I couldnt even button and the 34s had some room in them. I was afraid the 34s would stretch beyond a good place for me after a lot of wear.

The denim in itself was really interesting but due to the sizing I couldn’t fork over the clams.

I think that the size grading has changed a lot since the initial run of SL denim. The last few runs have been a lot truer to the tagged size. What season did you pick up your SL’s?

    @Tom

They are just Chucks with a higher side-wall. I think they just released them in a purple version. You can probably find them pretty easily.

The denim on these is breath taking. Love the color the cross hatch brings out, and I really dig the shape and placement of the back pockets. And dude looks glued out of his mind. Good for him.

I think those are the chambray Chucks, but I could be mistaken.

details on these are insane, not to mention the quality of the denim.

Just got my 10BSP’s (straight version of these) and they are s-p-e-c-t-a-c-u-l-a-r. If you’re on the fence about these, pull the trigger before you regret you didn’t. They stun.

I really have to hand it to 3Sixteen. I absolutely love my SLs. Never in my life has anyone commented on my jeans (well, maybe in derision behind my back). I was walking the Project show in Las Vegas last week, and was stopped at least three times by people asking what jeans they were or commenting on the fit. As most reading this site know, denim is a very personal matter when it comes to fit. 3Sixteen really has gotten a new convert.

Oh. Correction. I’m a bit in my cups… I have a pair of STs not SLs. By the way, I thought the slim leg would look awful. I see so many guys trying way too hard wearing ultra skinny jeans. Gents, I’m not one for enforcing gender roles, but seriously… Anyway that is for another forum. I was very dubious about wearing anything slim leg. Our man at Self Edge in NYC guided me perfectly. 3Sixteen is slim but functional. No candied apple on a stick appearance. Try both if you have the chance.

These jeans, are truly incredible. I got a good close look at them on my most recent trip to New York. Very high quality work and craftsmanship.

I bought a pair of these 3 weeks ago and love them. They become comfortable real fast and feel solid. I recently purchased #23 of 25 of the Raleigh Denim Barneys CO-OP 25th anniversary edition. I have fallen in love with a pair of jeans. That may be a bit weird…

    @ HLDM

the ST’s (slim/taper) are the skinnier fit and the SL’s (slim/leg) are the looser fitting style.

    @ JB

i agree with you on the back pocket thing. the ‘regular’ pockets are so much better. i dislike how the 20BSP’s back pockets are slightly higher but it doesnt bother me much. i also agree that the changing of the sizes is a bit weird but these fit me better than my other 3 pairs of 3sixteen ST’s.
