Two months in on my 1947 501’s. They’ve seen over 5k miles and 19 states but are just settling in and have conformed a bit in the knees crotch and waistband (I love the way a Levi’s waistband breaks down). Still more rigid than not I am getting minor wear on pockets, crotch and covered rivets. Haven’t washed or soaked yet and won’t be doing that for a long while. These are going to be great in 2-4 more months.
Fun Levi’s fact – a .22 bullet will fit in the red tab. Kids I knew back in Memphis and other parts of the south used to do it but I guess it was popular in the 60’s with biker types. Search your Danny Lyon books.

Looking great, Jay. Always dig reading/viewing the blog, too. No wallet fade?
Hey, Jay, how did you pick your size for these 501′s? I bought mine true to size a couple months ago and they’re still tight as hell (although with minimum wear). Have they stretched any for you?
JAY: Them boots? Muy bien. Please share.
Paul – Thanks. I don’t carry a wallet in my back pocket.
Mony- I buy true to size, don’t wash and wear em hard. I find that the 47s don’t stretch a bit unless you take a car jack to them.
Billy – Vintage Mason brand boots. Got them here:

Thanks all,
Jay
those are gonna be ball crushingly tight after you soak/wash those.
Anybody carry these in NYC so I can try on a pair?
