So over the last three months I’ve worn nothing but my 23oz D’artisans, with an initial soak on day one but nothing since then. They are really comfortable now, especially compared to how awkward and uncomfortable they were at the outset. I can’t tell if they’ve gotten more comfortable with wear or if I’ve just gotten used to them, I think probably a bit of both. One thing I like a lot about these jeans is the level of contrast I am getting in areas of wear. I have to say though there are aspects that I’m getting sick of. For instance, the heavy weight of the denim makes it hard to roll the cuffs up too much. In the summer I like to wear my jeans rolled up two or three times with low-top shoes and no socks. I tried this the other day, and without the tops of my shoes to support the weight of the cuffs my jeans kept sagging down and falling off my waist own under their own weight. Kind of an unusual problem. I’m also not totally crazy about the blue/white/red selvedge lines. It’s a bit overly decorative for my taste.
The wear I’m getting with these jeans is unlike any I’ve had before and they seem like they are just beginning to really break in. Months and months of wear to come, I expect.
Note: I just wanted to point out the I made an error in my earlier description. They are 23oz not 24oz. A number of people brought this to my attention. Also the tag on the inside of the waistband says 30th Anniversary Limited Product — that’s were I got the name. Blue in Green calls them 23oz Crazy Jean.

I can relate to the downside of really heavy denim. I have a pair of Iron Hearts, awesome rugged jeans, but just too much some times. The contrast on these is really impressive in such a short period of time.
I have a pair of Iron Heart 634SR 23oz. They are indeed quite a hastle to break in. It makes me laugh reading what you wrote in your previous post becuase its true. The denim is so thick and stuff its hard to maintain and make cooperate. I too am getting great contrast in the fades and the material is starting to to get quite soft and a little nappy. The longer you wear them the more compliant they get. Although I will be pruchasing a lighter weight pair for the summer and sadly hanging these in the closet until the cooler months. Good Luck!
Sandy, Jeans are looking great. I love the pocket square.
buy a belt?
The pocket square is great. Sandy (and Ryan) mind if I use this picture for a blog post on Class Act? With linkage of course.
