- No washing, no soaking, no cleaning of any sort….yet
- Worn 4-7 times a week depending on the week
- Always cuffed (to the point that there is an inch of debris in the cuff)
- Starting to see significant whiskering starting behind the knees
- Wear developing across waistline, knees, crotch and fly
- Everything I sit on (including tan leather car seats) are blue(ish)
- My hands are just now begging to come up clean when I rub the denim….though anything white still takes on some indigo
- The waistline has finally eased up to the point of being comfortable. It was never super uncomfortable. Just nice and tight
- I’m debating on a soak for these this month…they are getting close to needing some sort of refresher

joe…lookin good bro! Fight through the temptation to wash as they will only continue to look better and better. The objective is to get the most indigo out before soaking or washing. Hang outside in the sun to kill that (homeless)smell……lol….keep it up! matt
You’re starting to see some whiskering behind the knees? You mean you’re starting to see honeycombs developing behind the knees.
Where do you buy imogene + willie? These look great and I understand they’re reasonably priced
These are looking great at 3 months. I’d say hold off on soaking and washing as well. I can’t wait to see these in another month or two. Very nice!!!
Matt/Big Al-I’m going to go ahead and hold off on the soak…i’ll set them outside to get the smell out.
engima- you can call the store and talk to Ian 615-292-5005, he can get you sorted on price, sizing, etc…
cool joe-yes…honeycombs. sorry.
I like whiskering better… honeycombs are a cereal… nom nom…
ha! i prefer cinamon toast crunch..
what solutions do you use when you soak them?
Gabe-
I have used woolite black and soak them in cold water…some people even turn em inside out.
Gabe – when people say soak on here, for the most part that means only water… I have honestly never used soap on any of my denim…
Yah, I only soak mine is water, no soap at all. These are looking great.
kk thanks guys
those anybody has an idea where do you actually buy any of these jeans???
Rossell-
You can pick these imogene+willie jeans up from their store in Nashville. http://imogeneandwillie.com/contact.html
A lot of the other brands are available at Self Edge (http://www.selfedge.com/) Context (contextclothing.com/) or Blue in Green.
Joe,
These are looking great. Are these the early 12oz version (318 fabric) or the newer 14oz matsui fabric?
Brennan…these are the newer 14oz.
I appreciate the support/comment.
Joe
Joe, just purchased a pair of I+W’s this weekend from Ian (should be arriving Wednesday!)…out of curiousity what is your height/weight? I noticed you are wearing a size 31 (waist), I also got 31’s (per recommendation of Ian). How tight were they when you first put them on? How do they fit now? Would you have gone with a different size from the get-go? On your next post can you throw in a pic or two with the jeans on? Cheers, Sean.
Sean,
I am wearing 31’s. They were pretty tight when I first put them on. It was difficult to sit comfortably for a little while, but I made it through and they now have plenty of room in the waist without being overly stretched out (which is what happened with my APC’s). I’m 6′2″ 190 with a 32-33 inch waist. I’ve seen Ian in action and he is a master at getting people into the correct size for their frame. I’m guessing that he probably put you in the right pair. Next time I post I’ll certainly do some fit shots. Thanks for your questions.
Joe
Any insight on the price point of these? Trying to decide between these and a pair of Tellasons…
Chris, the Willie rigid is $225. If you have anymore questions about fit, price, etc., feel free to contact me. ian@imogeneandwillie.com or if you’d rather talk it out, 615-292-5005. Thanks for your interest!
As most people on this site, I’m very persnickety when it come to my jeans. Ian & I talked it out and I ended up purchasing a pair of Willie’s over the phone. I am very surprised I pulled the trigger without trying them on. However, Ian spent over an hour on the phone with me and I realized I was in good hands. Give him a call, he will hook you up.
Great job Ian!
Thanks again,
Blake
looking good. what are the current measurements on these? waist? hem? inseam?
